Thanks to the many volunteers who worked many hours collecting roadside trash and attending the dumpster, so that throw away items were disposed of during our Spring Cleanup effort. The green hills decorated with displays of wildflowers are now more beautiful than ever!

High Prairians and friends are invited to the "Weather, Wine and Stargazing" Open House Event at Morning Song Acres, the High Prairie Bed and Breakfast facility, at 6 Oda Knight Road, on Saturday, May 4, beginning at 7 p.m.

Meteorologist Mark Nelson from KPTV television will begin the evening with a power point presentation, "The Climate of the Columbia Gorge: Is It Changing?"" Then two local wineries will host a wine tasting social hour (with tasty treats) so residents can reconnect after the winter and become acquainted with local wines. When darkness falls, White Salmon Enterprise's astronomy expert, Jim White, will gather us all with his high powered telescopes to view the special sky show in the parking lot. (Jim is also responsible for guaranteeing a clear sky!) There is no charge, but a contribution for the presenters' charities is suggested Although not required, an email to amsong@gorge.net to indicate attendance would be welcome.
