TINA ANDERSON Tina Anderson, age 69, White Salmon, lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, June 24, 2006. She was born on June 17, 1937, in the Azores to Manuel and Serafina (Bettencourt) Avila. She married Jim Anderson in 1983 and enjoyed life to the fullest in White Salmon. She was a hairdresser for many years, as she opened the Beauty Chalet in White Salmon. Her customers were very special to her. Even after she retired in 1996, she took special pride in visiting her sick and distressed customers, and friends, and doing their hair. She and her husband, in their retirement, enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She had a great passion for dancing and going to the coast, meeting new friends. She was a member of the Hood River American Legion, and the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a big Seattle Mariner baseball fan, but just really enjoyed going to most any sporting event with Jim. She always enjoyed her bowling team, never seemed to keep the score, but always came out a winner. She is survived by her husband, Jim Anderson, White Salmon; sons Bill Clack, White Salmon, and Ron Clack, Camano Island; sisters Eldina, Mary (who died in 1975); brothers Manuel and Joe; and grandchildren Nick, Jim, Ben and Bob. She is also survived by her five stepchildren, Lori Snyder, Tami Nickels, Keith Anderson, Kyle Anderson and Amber Anderson; seven step grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was very special to all her family. Recitation of the Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in White Salmon. A funeral mass will be held at Gardner Funeral Home on Saturday, July 1, at 11 a.m. with graveside services following at the White Salmon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, PO Box 36, Hood River, Ore. 97031. Sign the online guestbook for Tina Anderson at www.gardnerfh.com. |
