Moreover, he was one of 10 CHS players to garner all-league recognition for outstanding play during the 2008 season. First team honors went to senior MF Cheno Barajas, the 2007 offensive player of the year; senior MF Shanti Gosman and senior FWD Martin Mendoza for the second time, and junior DEF Ramon Cortez for the first. (Cortez earned Second Team defense honors in 2007). |

Columbia High will kick off its inaugural CHS Boys Soccer Alumni Game at 6 p.m. Friday, June 20, in CHS Stadium. There will be no charge for admission, though donations to support the CHS boys soccer program will be accepted.
"This will be the last chance for this year's team to play together, and they'll be facing off against varsity players from the past," Bruins Coach Peter Knowles said.
At halftime, players, parents and community members who have helped build the success of the boys soccer program over the last eight years will be honored, and CHS's third-place trophy from this year's state Class 1A tournament will be officially presented.
