Business was slower in September for the Bingen-White Salmon Police Department. Officers handled 145 calls during the last summer month and the early days of autumn, according to the Monthly Activity Report for September 2011, submitted by Police Chief Tony Domish for the White Salmon City Council's Oct. 19 meeting.
The majority of the calls -- 90 -- originated in White Salmon. Ten calls because of animals topped the call list. Second, with nine entries, were agency assists. Seven parking issues led the 55 cases attributed to Bingen. Animal-related matters, with five cases, were second.
