Snowden Council to hold annual meeting

Changes needed to bylaws

August 28, 2012

The Snowden Community Council urges residents to attend its annual meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Cherry Lane Fire Station.

The council is attempting to bring its by-laws up to date and must have a minimum of 15 residents at the meeting in order to bring the changes to a vote.

The main change deals with the number of council members. Current by-laws require 10 council members, but the council has been unable to get that number of residents interested in serving on the council.

There are a few other operational changes to be made. Any resident who wishes to see a copy of the current by-laws and the proposed changes may email Judy Beckman at wildhaven@embarqmail.com, or call her at 493-2006.

Guest for the community forum portion of the meeting will be Skyline Hospital's CEO Mike Madden, along with commissioners of the hospital.

The council has recently completed its portion of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) and has submitted it to the Department of Natural Resources. Residents will have an opportunity to see the plan as submitted.
