Final chamber concert on Monday

Start your engines

August 28, 2012

This Monday, Labor Day, Sept. 3, is the finale of the Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce summer concerts.

And, this one is sure to be a grand finale!

The day begins as cars, motorcycles, and trucks begin filling Bingen's Daubenspeck Park for Rapid Readymix's Art On Wheels show starting at 10 a.m. Once assembled the show vehicles will head out for a Poker Run at 11:30, returning by 2:30. The Poker Payout and Awards will take place from 2:30 to 3:30.

Then, as the band Driven begins playing at 4 p.m., incredible food will begin. Matt Riley serving the pig he and Jonathon Blake roasted in the park, Buddy Walker presenting beef brisket, and Al Mitchell offering fresh salmon. This $5 dinner will include beans and coleslaw.

That sounds like a complete concert. However, this is the finale.

So, starting at 6, Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts will take the stage with a toe-tappin' tour of the Golden Era of Rock and Roll as they play tributes to such legendary artists as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Supremes.

The nine-member band includes a knockout horn section that really swings on tunes from Memphis to Motown, and a female vocalist, allowing the band to feature many of the talented ladies of rock.

In addition to the great music, the show features colorful costuming and energetic choreography, which always brings rave reviews.

Bingen/White Salmon Business Partners will begin tapping Everybody's Brewing at 3:30 along with soda, water, Margaret's snow cones, and cotton candy.
