New pastor arrives at First Baptist

Formerly of Hood River

Jeremy G. Anderson has become the new pastor at First Baptist Church in Bingen.

Pastor Anderson is a graduate of Horizon Christian in Hood River. He moved to Billings, Mont., and attended Yellowstone Baptist College until his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1999.

He deployed to Iraq in 2003 with 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. After serving 7 years with the Marines, Pastor Anderson joined the Army Reserve Chaplain Corps and returned to his studies, finally graduating from Liberty University with a bachelor of science degree in Biblical Studies in 2006.

He currently is also serving the Army Reserve as Chaplain Assistant/NCOIC of the 126th Chaplain Detachment, with whom he deployed again to Iraq in 2008. Upon return, he was accepted to Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating with a master's degree in theological studies in 2010, and a master of divinity in 2012.

In addition to serving as Pastor to the congregation at First Baptist, Anderson is a mental health counselor in The Dalles, Ore.

The goal of the ministries at First Baptist is to lead the community to Christ with compassion.

Pastor Anderson is married to Elizabeth (Wood) of Hood River. They were married in July 1998, and have four children: Caelen Emri, 13, Ian Quinn, 11, Aeryn Emilee, 10, and Cameron Reade, 3.
