Bingo will be the game of the night at the Grange on Friday, Nov. 2. The Glenwood Women's Club sponsors Bingo generally on the first Friday of each month -- and pinochle the other Friday nights at 7 p.m. Come join in the fun!

Glenwood business owners dubbed Halloween "Nightmare on Main Street" this year. Merchants planned special activities to provide a safe and fun place for children (young and old) to enjoy Halloween!

There was a costume contest at the Mountain Inn at 4 p.m., and the Glenwood General Store sponsored its annual pumpkin-carving contest. A new event this year was the "trunk or treat" where people parked between the store and the restaurant along Main Street and offered "treats" out of their trunks beginning around 4:45 p.m. Trunks could be decorated -- or not; costumes were optional, as well. In addition to prizes for the costume and pumpkin-carving contests, prizes were awarded to the "trunk or treater" with the best decorated trunk and costume. Winners of each contest will be published in a future "Glenwood News" for bragging rights! Complementary chowder, chili and hot cocoa was served at the Glenwood General Store to chase away the chill.
