TWO SEMIS AND A CAR — Cassandra L. Gann of Dallesport was injured in a three-vehicle accident on State Route 14 at Dallesport Road last week. Gann was transported from the scene to MCMC in The Dalles with her injuries. One of the semi truck drivers was also injured but not transported to a hospital. See WSP report below. November 27, 2012 WASHINGTON Two people were injured in a vehicle/two semi truck collision on State Route 14 at Dallesport Road, 10 miles east of Lyle. The accident occurred on Nov. 20, 2012, at approximately 10:14 a.m.STATE PATROL According to the report, a 2001 Freightliner driven by Alfredo Negrin-Martin, 50, Spokane, and a 1988 Jeep Cherokee driven by Cassandra L. Gann, 33, Dallesport, were both traveling westbound on SR 14 at Dallesport Road. A 2012 Volvo semi driven by Joe A. Kallis, 46, Auburn, was traveling eastbound. Gann stopped her Jeep at the intersection, attempting to make a left turn onto Dallesport Road when it was struck in the rear by the semi driven by Negrin-Martin. The Jeep was then pushed into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by the semi driven by Kallis. Negrin-Martin was not injured. Gann was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles with injuries. Kallis was not transported with his injuries. Negrin-Martin was charged with negligent driving. According to the report, Marek B. Dolecki, 50, Vancouver was driving his 2002 Freightliner with trailer northbound on SR 97, through a work zone. Dolecki failed to obey restrictive signs and his semi collided with a concrete jersey barrier. A 1999 Dodge pickup driven by Dustin D. Hays, 37, Wapato, was traveling southbound and was struck by debris from the collission. Both fuel tanks on the semi ruptrued, spilling approximately 300 gallons of diesel over the roadway. The Department of Ecology responded for the spill. Dolecki was charged with negligent driving. |
