PoliceReport for WSP and SCSODecember 04, 2012 WASHINGTON No one was injured in a semi-rollover accident that occurred on Nov. 29, 2012, at approximately 5:45 a.m. on State Route 97 at milepost 22, 10 miles north of Goldendale.STATE PATROL According to the report, Christopher R. Atkinson, 45, Vancouver, was driving his 2004 Freightliner semi southbound on SR 97, approaching a left curve. Atkinson failed to negotiate the curve, crossed over the southbound fogline and overturned, coming to rest on the guardrail. Atkinson was cited with negligent driving. According to the report, Yvette J. Bowers, 17, Carson, was driving her 1993 Ford Escort westbound on SR 14. A 1992 Honda Accord driven by Tessa K. Garwood, 23, Carson, and a 2005 Chevrolet Classic driven by Todd N. Kingston, 55, Carson were both traveling eastbound. Bowers lost control of her vehicle in a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a barrier on the right shoulder. Bowers then overcorrected and swerved into the eastbound lanes, striking the other two vehicles. Bowers was transported with her injuries to Skyline Hospital in White Salmon. Kingston was taken to Providence Hospital in Hood River. Garwood was not injured. Bowers was charged with negligent driving. SKAMANIA COUNTY The Skamania County sheriff's office says the search continued Tuesday for a mushroom picker who went missing over the weekend in a brushy area of the county in southwest Washington.SHERIFF'S OFFICE Sixty-year-old Gail Wietrick of Trout Lake disappeared Saturday afternoon, but the people she was with tried to find her on their own and didn't notify authorities until Sunday afternoon. |
