Cafe starts open mic night

On Wednesdays

December 11, 2012

Newly renamed North Shore Cafe, formerly Ten Speed Coffee, has become a delightful spot to spend time.

Owner Amber Nelson said, "At North Shore Cafe we are dedicated to providing a warm comfortable and creative environment while making customer service our number one priority."

One current ongoing event is Open Mic music night on Wednesdays from 7 to 10 p.m. In the long term vision, Nelson wants to encourage the use of the shop after hours for events, music, potlucks, meetings.

North Shore Cafe also provides a location for many local artists to get a start by hanging gallery shows. Currently displayed is artwork by Cyndi Strid of whimsical little faces created with slices of garden produce; photos by Carl Warren Photography.

Another local artist, Darlisa Black of Starlisa Black Photography, will be set up at North Shore Cafe on Friday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with her books, calendars and cards featuring the Gorge.

Another holiday event includes a Christmas Trunk event with last minute Christmas Shopping featuring local artisans, Christmas music, warm happy beverages and food on Thursday, Dec. 20, from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
