Death notice for Margaret Loose

MARGARET LOOSE

Margaret Betty Loose was born in September, 1915 in White Salmon to Mary Ellen (Tompkins) and Clyde A. Nickols. She was raised in White Salmon and married Elmer Loose in 1934.

They lived in California for 18 years and then returned to White Salmon in 1952 where they remained.

Margaret was the dental assistant for Dr. Howard Libby for 10 years. She also worked for Warneke's Clothing store and with a surveyor.

Margaret attended the Methodist Church and was a member of the Rebekahs, Emblem Club and Bowling Association.

Margaret loved people and donated her time for many years at the Bloodmobile. She loved leather craving and tooling, sewing and was an avid bowler.

In June of 2011 Margaret moved to Newport, Ore., to be closer to family. She passed away in Newport on Dec. 17, 2012, at the age of 97.

Survivors include her sons Robert Loose and Rodney Loose; daughter-in-law Patricia Loose; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer; brothers Cecil, Bill and John Nickols; sisters Grace Arnold, Dorothy Leaton and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in White Salmon with burial at the White Salmon Cemetery.

Gardner Funeral Home handled arrangements.
