Young lady competes for Miss Jr. Teen

Celia Cloinger of Husum was recently selected to participate in the 2013 Miss Jr. Teen Portland pageant competition that will take place on Sunday, Feb. 24.

Cloinger learned of her acceptance into this year's competition when the pageant announced its selections following interviewing in the Portland area.

Cloinger submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by this year's Portland pageant coordinator.

Cloinger will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. She will compete in the teen division, one of four divisions that will have young ladies ages 7 to 19 competing in modeling routines, which include casual and formal wear.

Most important, she will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year's judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.

If Cloinger were to win the title of Miss Jr. Teen Portland, she would represent Portland at the national competition in Orlando, Fla.

Community business, organizations and private individuals will assist Cloinger in participating in this year's competition by becoming an official sponsor.
