Friends looking for booksFor annual saleFebruary 19, 2013 The Friends of the White Salmon Valley Community Library are seeking donations of books, CDs, DVDs and cassettes for their annual Used Book Sale in March. Bring donations to the library during regular library hours. Not all books are of use to the Friends of the Library. Any donated materials should be in "new" or "like-new" condition. No magazines, Readers' Digest condensed books, incomplete sets (e.g. encyclopedias) outdated textbooks, or other materials on topics for which current information is generally sought (e.g. medical, legal, investment information). This year's book sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16. A special pre-sale event for members of the Friends of the White Salmon Valley Community Library will be on evening of Thursday, March 14 (memberships available at the door). Again this year there will be no scanners allowed during the special Thursday evening pre-sale event for members only. Proceeds from the sale of books will go to Friends of the Library projects to benefit the White Salmon Valley Community Library. The funds provide community programs for all ages, and enhance the local library collection. Proceeds from the multi-media sales will go to the Teen Summer Reading program and other teen library programs, services and resources. For further information about the book sale, call the library at 493-1132. |
