Photographer to show work at library

Through month of March

February 26, 2013

Photographs by Darlisa Black of White Salmon will be on exhibit in the White Salmon Valley community Library's Sprint/Baker Gallery March 2 to 29.

In her works, Black explores the brilliance of nature unique to the Columbia River Gorge. Join the artist on Saturday, March 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Artist's Reception for an evening of art, music and light refreshments.

Original Renaissance style music will be performed by the artist's daughter, singer/songwriter Leannan Sidhe.

Black, a native of the area raised in Husum, considers Mt Adams to the Columbia River home. After spending some time in Eugene and Port Townsend, she returned to the area in 2000, learning to love the area again with new eyes. Digital cameras came into her life in 2006 and since then, capturing fleeting moments of light and unusual weather phenomena have been her passion.

Black's mother and father taught her to love the world around her, and she says "If I can help others to see with new eyes by showing that beauty through photography, I have accomplished my heart's goal."
