Ballroom dance class begins again, meeting the next four successive Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. at the High Prairie Community Center (in Lyle, take a left on Centerville Hwy., go six miles to Struck Road, go left until you see a big yellow building -- that's it!). Don Slusher is leading again and will be teaching either the salsa or cha cha. There is a charge of $12 per couple for each session.

The monthly High Prairie Community Council meeting will be held one week earlier this month. A potluck meal, for anyone in the larger area, will begin the evening at 6:30, followed by a presentation by John Rolfe and his family about the Schilling ranch (end of Schilling Road).

John's grandmother (Jean Stout) goes back to Tennessee in the 1700s and grandfather (Robert Schilling) to 1860 in Germany. All who are interested in this High Prairie history are urged to attend this interesting presentation and the monthly meeting.
