Hopefully you are taking advantage of the thaw and working outside on these lovely days. If you are looking for a way to celebrate, the Easter breakfast sponsored by the Baptist Church will be held on Sunday, March 31, from 8:30 to 9:30 at the school. The breakfast is free and open to all. If there are questions contact Marnie Robison 493-3620. Looking for a way to see friends over a good meal before that? The Trout Lake Care dinner is this week. This will be their second event. Dinner will be in the Trout Lake School multipurpose Room on Thursday, March 14. Doors open at 4 for socializing and music. Dinner served at 5. This week's dinner is corn beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots. Desserts also included. Cost is $3.50 for those 60-plus and their spouses, $6.50 for everyone else. Wheel chair/transfer chair transportation available from the school entrance to the multipurpose room and back. Please encourage family, friends, neighbors, and more to attend. The meal is aimed at the 60-plus crowd and their spouses but all are welcome. Scholarship Opportunity: The application period is now open for Trout Lake Community Foundation Scholarships for 2013. Application information and a list of available scholarships can be found on the Community Foundation website at http://community.gorge.net/tlcfoundation/tlcf.htm. The Community Foundation is also offering one continuing education scholarship for adult residents of Trout Lake who are looking to pursue additional education, support a career change, or gain additional skills. The continuing education scholarship is sponsored by the Trout Lake Grange. All applications are due by April 30. Trout Lake High School seniors have been mailed the application form, and other students have been alerted via email. But we may have missed some, so make sure to alert any students you know, or any adults who may be interested in or pursuing continued education!
