Little Mermaid coming to Dallesport

Disney's"The Little Mermaid Jr." the spring musical, is playing at Dallesport Elementary School on Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23 at 7 p.m.

The musical is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film. The cast of 27 is made up of third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders who have been rehearsing for 12 weeks.

It stars Gillian Woods, Kurtis Billette, Kristina Lagewaard, Ryan Darland, Karrie Browning, Mariah Houston, Zimmer Osborne, Krystal Schultz-Meyer, Wyatt Jones, Hailee McKennon, Arturo Gutierrez, Arianna Trosper, Guidian Owen, Sierra Rappe, Brooklyn Williams, Savannah Spino, Makenna McMahon, Alethea McMillen, Savannah Schell, Annie Ortiz, Tristan Saunders, Gregory Haner, Alexis Miller, Emma Odom, Sophie Kilian, and Kyla Hovinghoff.

This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show.

The Little Mermaid Jr. takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel (played by Gillian Woods) longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she's the girl with the perfect voice.

Performance of Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. is open to the public at Dallesport Elementary School.
