Reports from the Klickitat County Sheriff and Washington State Patrol



Law enforcement officers from the Klickitat County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Bingen-White Salmon Police Department, executed a search warrant on a house near Whitson Elementary School in White Salmon on the morning of July 18.

Officers discovered several marijuana plants and a dozen illegal firearms.

Two adults and one juvenile were arrested at the residence. Their names have not yet been released by KCSO, and the investigation is continuing.



A mother and two of her three daughters were killed in a vehicle/semi-truck accident Saturday, July 21, at approximately 2:45 p.m. on state Route 14 near milepost 120 (near Rock Creek in eastern Klickitat County).

According to the accident report, Lorene K. Danskin, 36, Mollala, Ore., was driving her 1995 Chevrolet Astro Van westbound on SR 14. The vehicle went off the road to the right, then came back onto the road and slid into the eastbound lane where it was struck by a Freightliner truck with flatbed trailer.

The semi truck, driven by Robert C. Ruzgiz, 50, Vancouver, was destroyed by fire after the collision.

Lorene Danskin was pronounced dead at the scene, as were her 11-year-old daughter Andrea and 5-year-old daughter Kathryn. 14-year-old daughter Nicole was transported to Oregon Health Sciences University by Lifeflight.

Ruzgiz was transported to Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale.

SR 14 was blocked until 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 22.
