The Subaru Gorge Games will be taking place July 14-22, and is looking for volunteers to come out and take part in the action.
The staff of the Subaru Gorge Games welcomes all interested parties to join them for food and drink at the Volunteer Summit Party on July 9, from 6-8 p.m., at the Hood River Hotel, in downtown Hood River.
This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the Subaru Gorge Games and find out how you can sign up to be a part of the multitude of events going on.
If you're already set up to volunteer, come down to meet the staff, ask questions, and get a general orientation for the 2001 event.
This year, organizers of the weeklong event have scheduled more fun than ever before, ranging from live music, activities, and of course, outdoor sports competitions featuring some of the very best professional athletes in the world.

From elite athletes to weekend thrill-seekers, Subaru Gorge Games competitors vie for the gold in nine disciplines: 24-Hour mountain bike racing, 49er sailing, adventure racing, climbing, kayaking, kiteboarding, outrigger canoeing, trail running and windsurfing.
NBC will air the Subaru Gorge Games on Aug. 26 and Sept.2.
The games also feature a multifaceted, interactive spectator festival that includes films, clinics, exhibitions and concerts for the whole family.
