Seniors ready for Hawaii trip

Glenwood News for May 24

By the

Tomorrow will be the seniors last day at school. On Wednesday, they will be leaving for their trip to Hawaii. We hope they have a great time.

Today, the first place winners of the district track meet will be leaving to compete at the state track meet at Eastern Washington University in Cheney. Jenna Dean will be going in the javelin, Chelsey Wheelhouse in the discus, Cody Beeks in the discus and Jesse Dean in the pole vault and 300 meter hurdles. Let's hope we have some stat champions come back home.

Congratulations to Jessica Throop. She received the first award scholarship from the sociology department at Washington State University. Jessica is working on her master's at WSU. Her mother, Margaret, is getting around on crutches pretty well now. I even saw her driving her car the other day. We hope to see both Margaret and Anita back to work soon.

May 25 is the last pinochle night for the season, sponsored by the Glenwood Women's Club at the grange hall. Starting June through August, the grange will host the pinochle games in their hall every Friday at 7 p.m.

The women's club is planning its menu for its rodeo stand at the Ketchum Kalf Rodeo on Father's Day weekend. It's a big change from the original doughnuts and coffee served 50 plus years ago. Stop by and say hi.

Our sympathies go to Irene Kracht and family because of Merle's passing recently.

The Women's Club is proud to have Chelsey Wheelhouse represent the community at Girl's State, sponsored by the American Legion, on June 16.
