Trout Lake records eighth win in a row

Mustangs set to host league playoff match Saturday

Trout Lake finished the 2001 Greater Columbia B League soccer season with an eight-match winning streak that included its 5-1 victory at Riverside Christian last Friday.

The Mustangs (8-1 in league, 12-3 overall) got two goals each from seniors Dustin Poland and Ben Anderson, and one from senior Nathan Dick.

Junior Andrew Dick had two assists. Nathan Dick and freshman Peter Schmid each earned an assist on Anderson's second, Trout Lake's final, goal.

Trout Lake led 3-0 at halftime. Riverside got its only score in the 42nd minute (second minute of the second half).

The Mustangs host a league playoff game Saturday afternoon. They will play either Day Star Christian or Sunnyside Christian, starting at 2:30.

Mustangs Coach Jimmy Dick said the match is tentatively scheduled. He noted Trout Lake's opponent could decide to skip the playoff and take the league's second berth to state.
