Province committee to discuss future of volcanic monument

Advisory group will discuss future of the national monument on Nov. 14.

The Southwest Washington Province Advisory Committee members will discuss the future of the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument at a meeting on Nov. 14.

Other topics include strategies for enhancing communicating with a diverse audience and a report of the subcommittee that completed a monitoring of the Northwest Forest Plan.

The public is encouraged to attend.

An "Open Forum" session will be held at 1 p.m., providing interested citizens an opportunity to address the Advisory Committee.

The meeting will be held at Gifford Pinchot National Forest Headquarters, 10600 NE 51st Circle, Vancouver.

The Southwest Washington Province Advisory Committee provides policy advice and recommendations for National Forest lands in southwest Washington.

The Advisory Committee includes 28 members of local, State, Tribal, and Federal governments, as well as citizens representing a broad variety of interests.
