Mustangs stay in the running for league title

Trout Lake hosts co-frontrunner Day Star Christian on Oct. 12 at 4 p.m.

Senior Ben Anderson scored two goals to lead Trout Lake past visiting Sunnyside Christian 5-3 in an Oct. 2 Greater Columbia B League match.

The victory raised the Mustangs' league record to 3-1 and its overall mark to 7-3. Moreover, it kept them in title contention.

Anderson scored an unassisted goal in the 24th minute to tie the match at 1-1. He scored its final goal in the 69th minute. He earned an assist on senior Dustin Poland's goal in the 28th minute.

Poland also played the role of playmaker. He assisted on Kris Huffsmith's goal at the 63-minute mark and on Anderson's second boot.

Mark Poland put in Trout Lake's other goal, in the 60th minute.

Sunnyside Christian scored in the 11th, 66th and 68th minutes.
