completed the season with a kick, winning its two remaining matches to finish 6-4.

The seventh-graders traveled to Carson on Oct. 16 to take on Wind River. The Grizzlies swept the Royals, 15-1, 15-7, 15-5.

Coach Kathy Gilderhus said, "The team played volleyball the way it's supposed to be played -- pass, set, hit. It was great to watch."

She praised setters Michele Shrum, Katie Johnson, Chani Weiler and Okoree Post-Peyralans, "who did a wonderful job of setting up the ball for some hits."

Eloise Zimbelman led Henkle servers with 24 points on 25-of-25 serving.

The Grizzlies played their final match on Oct. 18, at home against Canyon Creek of Washougal. Henkle won 15-11, 15-4, 15-11.

Noted Gilderhus: "This match was like most seventh-grade matches. The team that had the most consistent serves won."

Michele Shrum, Britta Knutson and Ashley Poole were Henkle's top servers with seven points each.
