Daughters of the Revolution to host state meeting

Mt. Adams Chapter plays host to state Society Daughters of the American Revolution quarterly meeting

The Mount Adams Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in White Salmon will be hosting the Washington State Society Daughters of the American Revolution for its quarterly board meeting on Sept. 22.

The meeting will be held at the United Methodist Church.

Officers of the state society, chapter officers and committee chairmen will be attending the meeting. National Vice President General Shirley Wagers will also be attending.

At the state conference in March, local Regent Cheryl Strong was honored with the Outstanding Regent Award for the State of Washington. The local chapter also achieved national recognition by receiving a Level One in chapter achievement. This award requires a chapter to participate in community activities, to present programs that represent DAR objectives of historic preservation, and promotions of education and patriotic endeavors.

On Oct. 6, the chapter will host a Lineage Workshop at Sterling Bank in White Salmon at 10 a.m. The speaker will be Velma Rice, state lineage chairman. The meeting is open to the public.
