Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery is hosting its Annual Visitors' Open House this Saturday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The public event will provide visitors with opportunities to view adult tule fall chinook salmon, which have begun returning to the hatchery.
Visitors can watch the fish leaping up the fish ladder and massing in the holding ponds; learn more about why and how fish are raised in hatcheries, watch a new generation of salmon being spawned, take a look inside the fish marking trailer and tour the hatchery. Light refreshments also will be available.
For more information call the hatchery at 493-1730.
