The league-leading Cougars collected 25 hits and made only two errors in last Friday's sweep of the Knights.

Chad Myers went six innings in game one, scattering nine hits and allowing four earned runs to improve to 7-0.

The senior right-hander struck out nine and walked one in his duel with SC's Lance Den Boer, who was relieved after four innings, with his team trailing 10-1.

The Cougars pounded Knights pitching for 16 hits (two doubles and 14 singles).

Myers led the way, going 4 for 4 with three runs and two stolen bases.

In game two, exchange student Saul Hernandez (2-2) struck out 10 and gave up eight hits and one earned run for a complete-game victory.

Senior Ryan Johnson paced Lyle's nine-hit effort, with two hits in four at-bats. He hit a run-scoring double, stole four bases and scored three times.

Randy McMurrin was 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and scored two runs. Tyler Essex and Hernandez both knocked in runs with singles.

Riverside Christian 10-3, at Glenwood-Trout Lake 3-2 --

Riverside pitching shut down G-TL batters, holding them to 11 hits and striking out 13 in the April 16 GCB double-header.

GT-L connected for seven hits in the first game, three of them by Derek Kavanagh, who scored two of his team's three runs.

The Crusaders tallied eight hits, many of them coming during a seven-run first inning against G-TL starter Ben Anderson.

Game two featured a pitcher's duel between G-TL's Kavanagh and RC's Brenden Murphy.

Kavanagh kept G-TL in the game by limiting the Crusaders to six hits in seven innings. But Murphy was slightly better, firing a four-hitter and striking out seven.

RC's defense aided Murphy's cause by turning a triple play.
