Fort Vancouver Regional Library District will launch its 2003 Bookmark Contest on Monday, Jan. 6.
Entry forms with contest instructions will be available beginning that day at the district's 12 branches, including White Salmon Community Library, and three bookmobiles.
The popular contest, is open to children in kindergarten through eighth grades who live in or attend school in Clark, Skamania, Klickitat counties, or the Woodland School District. The entry form will also be available beginning Jan. 6 at the district's Web site, www.fvrl.org
Entry forms must be returned to a branch of Fort Vancouver Regional Library District by Saturday, Feb. 8.
Finalists for each grade level will be chosen at branches. One district-wide, grand-prize winner will be selected from among branch finalists for each grade level.
Grand-prize winning bookmarks will be released as part of the celebrations of National Library Week, April 6-12, and will be distributed throughout the year as FVRL bookmarks.
Celebrations for all participants will be held in each library branch. Grand-prize winners and finalists will receive framed copies of their bookmarks.
"Our 2001 contest attracted 5337 entries," said Jacquelyn Keith, coordinator of children's and family services for the district.
