Washington State Patrol report.



Six people, including four children, were injured in a three-vehicle accident on state Route 14 at milepost 106.5.

According to the report, a 2001 Dodge Durango driven by Darrel E. Kittilstved, 42, Veradale, was westbound on SR 14. A 1988 Honda Civic driven by Irene M. Murphy, 40, Chaney, was traveling eastbound, as was a 1994 semi driven by Lucio C. Garcia, 38, Pasco.

Murphy's vehicle collided with Kittilstved's vehicle in the eastbound lane. The semi then collided with the other two vehicles, forcing them onto the eastbound shoulder. The semi then jackknifed into the westbound jersey barrier.

Neither Kittilstved nor Garcia, who were both wearing seatbelts, was injured in the accident.

Murphy, who was also wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles. Also injured in the Murphy vehicle were: Jansen Murphy, 7, who was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center and then to Emanuel Hospital in Portland; Alex Murphy, 9, who was also taken to Emanuel Hospital; Spencer Murphy, 6, who was taken to Emanuel Hospital; Abby Murphy, 3, who was taken to Emanuel Hospital; and Delbert Murphy, 39, who was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center.

All passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
