Lyle School Offers Summer Program

Students in grades 3-9 can participate in summer activities.

This summer Lyle School District's 21st CCLC After School Adventure Program will be offering summer activities to students in Grades 3-9.

All programs are free of charge and transportation is provided.

There will be three main pickup/drop off points -- Lyle Mercantile, Murdock and Dallesport Elementary. A transportation schedule will be provided for each camp.

Students will be bringing home a flyer to be filled out and returned to school.

Registrations are due by June 6.

All camps will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

Lyle/Dallesport Summer Activities Schedule:

June 17-21 -- Summer Basketball Camp in Dufur, Ore., 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for 3-9. Students need to bring their own lunch. Transportation is provided.

June 17-20 -- Quilting with Lynn Wilson. This class is for grades 7-12 and adults. All skill levels of sewing are invited to attend.

July 9-12 -- Summer 4-H Camp at Brooks Memorial Park for grades 4-6. This is a 4-day camp filled with fun activities. You do not have to be in 4-H to attend. Bus will leave at noon on July 9 and return by 1 p.m. on July 12.

July 8-12 -- Our Places: Summer of Discovery, 8:30 to 12:30 p.m. This is a hands on science program for students in grades 4-6 which ties to the spring science curriculum students in grades 5-6 participated in. Students in grades 7-9 can sign up to assist with activities. Snack provided.

July 15-26 -- Theatre Arts, Puppetry, Mask Making & Fun, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for students in grades 4-9. This 2 week camp will be given by Gail Farris and Peggy Scheradella. The two-week session will end with a talent show. Snacks provided.

July 29-Aug 2 -- Discover Day Camp for students entering grades 4-5, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Discovery Museum. Transportation is provided. Students need to bring a sack lunch.

Aug 5-15 -- Swimming lessons at Hood River Aquatic Center, 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. We have 4 certified instructors to give one half hour session of swim lessons. Varied skill levels will be offered. Transportation and snack are provided.
