Community ed offers two musical theater programs

Hood River offers programs for students

The Hood River County School District Community Education Department is offering two different summer musical theater programs.

Each one is two weeks in length and they will be held at the Hood River Middle School auditorium.

The first one is scheduled for July 8-19 and is directed by Rebekah Meyer.

The program is open to grades 2-5 in the mornings from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 1 to 4 p.m. for grades 6-12.

Students will receive their scripts and tapes prior to the first session. Every student will have a role in the production, which will be Peter Pan for the younger students. Grades 6-12 will perform Godspell.

The performances will be July 19.

Limit is 16 students per class. Cost is $250.

The second musical theater program will be held July 29 to Aug. 9. This program combines ages 6-16. The program will be directed by Sharon Olsen.

This two-week musical theater experience will be Cinderella. Each student will audition for a part on the first day of class.

Students will perform a short mini performance at Families in the Park and one evening at the Hood River Middle School auditorium.

The tuition is $70 plus a $5 taping fee for music.
