Full Sail Tasting Room and Pub continues a series of fundraising concerts to benefit the local Hood River Chapter of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
On Saturday, March 23, at 8 p.m., the alternative-funky-folk-rock band, The Joy Wilson Band, will be featured.
The Joy Wilson Band is now based in Portland, Ore., and has been around in various incarnations for over five years. Whether it's Brian's percussive interpretations, Jason's multi-instrument stylings, Keith's classically trained methods, or Joy's unschooled emotional and intuitive lyrical tangents, the soul-folk style of this power quartet grabs hold of its listeners.
Joy has been playing guitar, singing and songwriting for 12 years now and has three albums under here belt, each on her own independent label, Yu Go Girl Records. She has performed in a wide range of venues including quiet acoustic coffee houses, lively college bars, live public radio show, New York City's famous songwriter's joint the Sidewalk Cafe, and as a two time showcase finalist in the annual National Songwriter's Expo.
Joy has recently played at the Portland Bite and the Rose Garden Coliseum. She has also performed in large outdoor music festivals as well as formal theatres.
