A comprehensive parenting education curriculum is soon to be offered in White Salmon.
Beginning Thursday, June 6, a program sponsored by the Klickitat County Health Department and the Department of Social & Health Service will help parents learn vital skills.
The class, geared to parents of children from birth to 8, is geared to the following:
Learn practical stress management and communication skills;
Gain greater understand of their children;
Learn effective parenting skills and positive approaches to discipline;
Build a support network.
The 12-week program of classes is free. The sessions will be held every Thursday at the Nazarene Church (behind Skyline Hospital) starting at 1 p.m.
"We plan to have it ongoing if we possibly can," said Sandra Jensen, RN of the Klickitat County Health Department.
Jensen and Tishy Stein, a DSHS social worker, will lead the class.
