Downtown tree lighting ceremony set for Dec. 6 in Hood River

The Hood River Downtown Business Association in conjunction with Hood River downtown businesses is once again hosting the “Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony” in Downtown on Friday, December 6th, 6:00pm.

This event offers a chance to kick off the holidays with fun and festivities. From 5-8 p.m. enjoy walking through Downtown and visiting various businesses during Hood River’s First Friday event. There will be caroling throughout Downtown by the Fourth Dimension and The Community Ed Christmas Choir. Santa will be making special appearances throughout Downtown.

Come join us at the Tree Lighting Ceremony that will be held at 6pm in the Overlook Memorial Park at Second and State Streets. Featured will be the Fourth Dimension, The Community Ed Christmas Choir and the Shar/Lynn Duo, singing holiday songs to welcome in the season.

Downtown businesses will be holding special in store holiday sales, along with the many businesses hosting a variety of artists for the last First Friday event of 2002.

Be sure to place this event on your calendar for celebrating the holidays. Enjoy the stroll through Downtown Hood River, listening to the sounds of the holidays and seeing the lights of the season.

Special thanks go to Your Rental Center, Sharon Olsen, the Fourth Dimension, Cami Grichel of Silverado, HR County Chamber Ambassadors, the City of Hood River and the Hood River Downtown Business Association for their generous donation of equipment, time or talent.
