Two worlds meet in library celebration

Families invited for Halloween event on Oct. 30

Families are invited to the White Salmon Valley Community Library on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m. when two worlds meet as the library celebrates Halloween and el Dia de los Muertos.

Bring the whole family to share an evening of Halloween and el Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) traditions. Enjoy a puppet show telling the history of el Dia de los Muertos presented by the Henkle Middle School ESL class performed with puppets made by the students.

Shiver and shake (with anticipation and laughter) when storyteller Jenine WhiteCastle tells a wild Halloween tale.

Enjoy the spine tingling read-aloud of My Aunt Otilia's Spirits (Los Espiritus de me Tia Otilia) read in English and Espanol/Spanish.

Share in traditional holiday crafts, games, songs and refreshments. Wear a costume or come as you are!

This fun, free event is co-sponsored by the ESL classes from the Henkle Middle School and the Columbia High School, the White Salmon Valley Community Library and the Friends of the Library.
