Congratulations to all of the participants from Glenwood that had entries in the Klickitat County Fair. There were a lot of blue ribbons awarded to Glenwood participants and our community had good representation at the fair this year.
School started this year for Glenwood students on Thursday, Aug. 29. We are all looking forward to a great year. Two new teachers have joined the faculty this year. We would like to welcome Amy Klodzinki who is the fourth and fifth grade teacher and Dan Smith is the new history, geography and psychology teacher at the secondary level. Kim Holly has substituted for many years at the school and will be working in the kitchen this year as the assistant cook. Welcome to all of the new employees.
The 21st Century Grand coordinator and employees have been busy planning the second Celebration of Community Day. It is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7, starting at noon to 6 p.m. There will be fun, games and prizes all day long. Don't miss the great barbecue planned for 3 p.m. This event is free and sponsored by the 21st Century Grant. Don't miss the fun on Sept. 7. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the 21st Century Grant and the after school program that is offered to Glenwood students.
Rachel Throop will be writing the news for September. Call her if you have any news.
