Autumn leaves to to landfill

City of White Salmon to pickup leaves free of charge.

The City of White Salmon Refuse Collection Division has designated from Oct. 1 to Nov. 8 to implement its new "Autumn Leaves-To-Landfill" Program.

The owners and/or occupants of family residential properties within the city limits of White Salmon are encouraged to place tree leaves and flower/garden trimmings in "double bagged" 30 gallon size plastic bags.

The gabbed leaves and garden debris are to be appropriately secured and then placed at the street frontage curbside for collection on the normal garbage day.

Only tree leaves and flower/garden trimmings are to be placed in the bags. No paper, cans, glass, metals, plastics or any other household refuse is to be placed within any bag used for the collection of tree leaves or garden trimmings.

Also picked up will be bundles of small tree limbs that do not exceed 48" in length and are appropriately tied.

For more information call city hall, 493-1133.
