Bluegrass comes to Jackson Park

Second Families in the Park concert set for Aug. 14.

The second Thursday of Sprint Families in the Park will bring bluegrass to the Jackson Park stage in Hood River on Thursday, Aug. 14.

The Knott Bros. will take the stage at 7 and perform until 9 p.m.

The Knott Bros. are a highly polished, high energy five piece bluegrass band that will thrill the audience with wonderful acoustic sound. Their debut CD "Something Out Of Nothing" was named as one of the top 10 bluegrass releases by KBCS in Seattle. In 2000 the Knott Bros. finished 3rd in the International Bluegrass band competition representing the Northwest's best bluegrass band.

The evening starts at 6 p.m. with New Parent Services fund-raising dinner featuring fajitas. There will be many food vendors in the park including ice cream cones by the Eagles Auxiliary. Food will be served well into the evening.

The 4-H Mid Valley Mexican Folk Dancers will perform as a warmup to the Knott Bros from 6:15-6:45 p.m.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the entertainment in the cool shade of Jackson Park. Everyone is welcome.
