Pick up your entry form from one of the local businesses, (or in the recent Lyle Newsletter) for the Lyle Community Council's Christmas Lighting contest. Mail your form to PO Box 952, Lyle. The judging will be done on Dec. 22. The council is looking forward to judging many entries and has lined up some nice prizes for the winners.

If you missed the last council meeting you missed an informative and interesting meeting. An explanation as to why Lyle needs a new wastewater treatment plant was given by the State Ecology Department. Funding issues were also addressed. The election for Council positions was also held that night with Terry Mills, Mildred Lykens and Pam Essley all being re-elected. Stephanie Boen was unsuccessful in her bid for Pam's seat, but agreed to be on the council's advisory board. The council appreciates residents' input at the regular meetings held the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m.

Community Churches are Lyle United Methodist, 403 W Klickitat St., and Lyle Celebration Center, 715 Washington St.
