Congressman Doc Hastings announced that Zachary Rogers Tindall, son of James and Pamela Tindall of White Salmon, has earned an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.
"Our nation depends on the service of bright young men and women like Zach," said Hastings. "His proven academic success, athletic achievements commitment to helping others will serve him well at the Air Force Academy."
Tindall, who maintains a 3.8 grade point average, is a member of the National Honor Society and will graduate from Columbia High School in June. He is a member of the varsity football team, has lettered in cross country and track and serves as FFA president.
While not at school, Tindall volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross. He also has earned his private pilot's license.
Tindall was nominated to the Air Force Academy after being interviewed by Congressman Hastings' Academy Selection Committee.
