Hospice of the Gorge's annual Light Up a Life celebration which provides everyone throughout the Mid-Columbia an opportunity to remember or honor people important to them draws to a close on Jan. 10 and 11, with three name-reading ceremonies.
Everyone is invited to attend one or more of the ceremonies.
Name-reading ceremonies will be held in White Salmon, The Dalles and Hood River. Each ceremony will feature music, inspirational readings, refreshments and recognition of those remembered or honored by others.
The White Salmon name-reading celebration is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, at Bethel Congregational Church and will feature music by the Sweet Adelines and the H2E Flute Trio.
The celebration in The Dalles will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, at St. Peter's Landmark. Music will be provided by Heartbeat.
The Hood River celebration will be Sunday, Jan. 11, at Hood River Valley Christian Church at 2 p.m. The Riverside Community Church Choir and Hanie's Hospice Band will perform.
Light Up a Life contributions will be gratefully accepted through Jan. 11.
The Light Up a Life celebration benefits Hospice of the Gorge patients and programs. It began Dec. 2 with a program and lighting of the Hospice holiday tree at the Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River.
Hospice of the Gorge serves seven Mid-Columbia counties in Oregon and Washington.
