On Feb. 22, 2003, at approximately 11 a.m., the Skamania County Sheriff's Dive Rescue Team responded to the mouth of the Deshutes River in Oregon, at the request of the Columbia River Intertribal Enforcement.
Intertribe reported one person missing, last seen in the river without a life preserver.
At approximately 3 p.m., the Skamania County Dive Rescue Team located the body of an adult male in about 18 feet of water. After the body was recovered from the river, the dive team returned to Skamania County.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
