The State Route 141 Alternate between SR 14 in Underwood and SR 141 will close to all traffic from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, for paving.
The full closure of the SR 141 Alternate is necessary to maintain the safety of the construction crew and motorists while this narrow and windy highway is paved.
Motorists who normally use the SR 141 Alternate will need to take the main SR 141 highway, which begins east of the alternate in Bingen. Residents who live on the SR 141 Alternate will be allowed to access their homes during the closure.
Advance warning signs will be posted on SR 14 eastbound and westbound and on SR 141 southbound several days ahead of and during the closures.
The paving work on the SR 141 Alternate is part of a county-wide project that has been underway since May.
A partnership project between WSDOT and Klickitat County, this project will pave SR 141, SR 141 Alternate, SR 142, US 197, Oak Ridge Road and will widen and resurface Rattlesnake Road.
