Klickitat County rodeo fans have their choice this Father's Day weekend between the Ketchum Kalf Rodeo in Glenwood and the Alder Creek Pioneer Picnic and Rodeo near Bickleton.
The Ketchum Kalf Rodeo, at the Glenwood Rodeo Grounds, marks its 69th year this Saturday and Sunday, with rodeo action starting at 1 p.m. both days.
Scheduled events include bull riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, cow milking, breakaway roping, team roping and barrel racing.
On Sunday, a cowboy-style breakfast will be served at the Glenwood School from 6:30-10 a.m., followed by a rodeo parade from town to the rodeo grounds that starts at 11.
The 93rd annual Pioneer Picnic and Rodeo takes place Saturday and Sunday at Cleveland Park, four miles west of Bickleton. Showtime is 1 p.m. both days.
In addition to the chance to watch a full slate of rodeo events, the Pioneer Picnic offers rodeo-goers rides on an antique carousel that is brought out of storage and assembled just for the occasion.
Both rodeos offer camping sites, food and concessions, and are sanctioned by the Northwest Professional Rodeo Association.
