Featuring several Gorge artists

Glass Gallery returns to Portland

The 3rd annual Glass Gallery is coming to Portland's Convention Center May 9, 10 and 11.

Glass Gallery is organized, staffed and run entirely by the participating glass artists and the Oregon Glass Guild (OGG), the sponsoring organization. Everyone working at the show is a glass artist, creating an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie.

Local Gorge OGG member glass artists participating are Linda Steider, White Salmon; Andy Nichols, The Dalles; and Shatoiya de la Tour, Hood River.

Many different kinds of glass art will be on display, including blown, fused, lamp worked, stained glass, jewelry, functional works and sculptural art.

Admission to the show is free. Hours are May 9 and 10, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; May 11 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Another nice element of the event is that Ceramics Showcase, the largest all-pottery show in the country, and the Hand Weaver'’s Guild are also taking place on the same weekend.
