Photography by Bob Koch will be on display in the White Salmon Valley Community Library during the month of December.
The Windows on the Gorge exhibit features Koch's photographs of landscapes, wildflowers, historic structures and vehicles. The works capture the beauty and diversity of the Columbia River Gorge in color and brown-tone.
Photography has been Koch's full time vocation and passion since he retired from 30 years of teaching science at The Dalles Middle School in 1996.
Koch says "my main inspiration to become a photographer came from the many photos taken by my mother as I was growing up."
His hope is to capture many of the vistas of the area to preserve the history of the region. In addition to his own photographs, Koch has also been actively trying to get historic photographs by early photographers into circulation, some of which are included in this show.
The exhibit will continue through Dec. 30.
