Flu shots are being offered by the health department on Monday, Oct. 27, beginning at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the new community learning center room at our Trout Lake school.

The cost is $15. Everyone is welcome. With all this rain, this is an excellent opportunity to get flu protection.

This week there are home games for high school volleyball and soccer. Volleyball begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday and the soccer game will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are doing well. Come out and watch them play.

The Jonah Ministries lending library was recently given some new family videos and books. Thanks to the generosity of a board member, and also many other donors, the library is growing just in time for fall and winter reading. A good book for home school is the Fun Book For Families. If you are looking for new recipes there is the Green Thumb Cookbook, and the Easy Livin' Low-Calorie Microwave Cooking book. Also a collection of the Chicken Soup series. There are some new family videos and some travel videos about China, Egypt and France.

Aren't the reds, yellows and oranges of the fall leaves colorful. Get out your camera and enjoy! Sandi Thygesen, newswriter.
