In CHS girls soccer debut

Bruins see Rockets' red glare

Castle Rock initiated Columbia High into the Class 2A soccer sorority with a 10-0 shutout in a season-opening non-league match here last Thursday.

The battle-tested Rockets blasted off early and cruised to a 5-0 halftime lead against the first-year Bruins, who made their debut in front of a small but vocal home crowd.

Castle Rock, which is expected to contend for one of three Trico Division playoff spots this season, got six goals from Ashley Biral.

Melissa Stagner added two goals for the Rockets. Shauna Tinney got credit for the shutout in goal.
