Bookstore to sponsor two events

Ellen Morris Bishop to give slide show and talk

In October Waucoma Bookstore is going to sponsor two events, both involving Oregon authors.

The first will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at CAST. Ellen Morris Bishop, author of In Search of Ancient Oregon: A Geographical and Natural History, will be giving a slide show and talk. She resides in eastern Oregon.

The second event will be a benefit for the Hood River County Library and held at the library on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon. Kathleen Phillips Poulsen, Forest Grove, Ore., resident, will be reading her book, Apple Doll, and demonstrating how to carve an apple doll head. The audience will then have a chance to carve their own apple doll head.

Ten percent of the proceeds from the sale of her book will go to the library.
